Whew, today was definitely a Monday. :P

I had a re-write to do, I totally bombed on writing a news brief. It was apparently terrible and I killed it and started over. Didn't finish it though.

Edited a devotional, and posted it.

I also worked on writing a letter to the TLC at Union to see if they would allow me to interview a blind student on campus. I didn't want to be intrusive, so I just sent them a letter explaining what I want to do, and how to get in touch with me. I asked the center if they could just leave that for the student that way it's up to her if she'd like to be interviewed.

Aww, Meg and Chase called while I was in work. My phone is loooud and I don't answer it while at work. I miss them.

Took some photos of my "office" and the outside of the building today. If I can figure out how to post them in here, I will....

No, I'm not at work. I just wanted to have a post on my birthday. I'm 23 today. I feel old. XD

Some of my friends are taking me to P.F. Chang's in the evening! Mmm.

Er, spent today working on a project for class, and tried to finish some "work" stuff at the same time. That was...interesting.

I have a hard time juggling work and assignments, I don't think I do a good job. Which is strange, because generally I'm great at multi-tasking.

Today I worked on a few more devotionals at work. Usually I can speed through these: it's mostly just simple editing. But I have a cold, and it's getting really hard to stare at a screen for a couple hours.

I'm supposed to ask my school if I can interview a blind student on our campus. I feel a little strange asking for someone's name so I can hunt them down and ask for an interview. *shrug* I will have to find a non-invasive way of doing it.

Today I'm kinda ill, but I came to work anyway since I missed yesterday. WHEW, whatta mouthful!

Working on an article explaining why MySpace isn't fair to visually impaired persons: the CAPTCHAs aren't fair to them.

After over a month of vacation, I'm back at Christian Record. I took several days off toward the beginning of December to study for finals, and then I went home to California for Christmas.

I've logged about 70 hours here so far--only 130 to go! I'm enjoying it though, it's not boring and we move at a nice pace here.

Now I'm back--and have posted two new things on Connected. The first one was a report I did while on break about a bank scam in one of the Dakotas, and the other is an in-depth news brief about GPS tracking devices for the visually impaired. I love our website posting system--it's basically blogging software, so I know how to backdate, change HTML and tags, etc. YAY for me.

I'm on a roll already. :3

I'm going to be taking off the rest of the month--this week is "Dead Week" at college, meaning last week of studies before finals!

Then next week I have a lot of finals to finish, and then it's Christmas break. I'll be flying to visit my family in California, and my school doesn't start up again until Jan. See you then!

For those who don't know, essentially my job is to re-write news briefs that pop up around the internet. I filter through irrelevant news and pick out things that are of specific interest to the visually impaired community.

Today I had to do a story which required me to do a LOT of re-writing and editing, and I'm stressed. :X

I finished two news briefs today! One is about how GPS tracking-systems are helping blind people get around better than only using a guide dog. The other is how the US Treasury has been found discriminatory against the visually impaired for making paper money feel exactly the same in all denominations. HAHA.

Also did another devotional. The money-related news brief is more timely, so it was posted today along with the devotional. Both can be found at Connected Mag. (Is it strange that it bothers me that we call it a magazine when it is treated more like a blog or paper? Oh well.)

I got to do voice-overs for a promotional video today. Was....interesting! I still read too fast. :P

The man who usually runs the tech equipment was not in charge of the video, it was the graphics guy. He's an interesting person, the recording session was fun.

Anyway, did a voice-over as a little girl. My voice still sounds chipmunk-y, I am told. X3
Afterward, worked on writing another news brief.
